Absolutely Nothin’….

I have nothin’ to say.

I’m tired. My 85lb dog just whipped her head back and caught me under the chin… I don’t know if y’all know this… but that crap hurts. So now I’m sore and I have nothing to blog about.

I may try to get a little work done later tonight, or I may not. I don’t know yet. I may just sit around and pout because I hurt now. 😂

I think my husband is going to build us a little campfire, so that’s nice. 🔥

Other than that, I’ve got nothin’. See ya tomorrow!

Here’s a little picture I took today! ❤️

Reading On A Road Trip!

It’s a read a book on a road trip kinda day! Pulled one of my favorites off the bookshelf just for the occasion. ❤️

Thought I’d pop on and show you guys what my day looks like. Hope you all have a fantastic day! I’mma get back to my book now. (My husband won’t let me read it out loud. Not very sporting of him, is it? 😂 A little romance never hurt anyone! 😘)

Blueberry Muffins, Squirrels, & Stubborn Puppies…

I have a million things to do tonight and only a handful of hours to do them in, but I figured I’d pop on and chit chat for a few.

Random things from my day….

I ate a blueberry muffin! It was delish! Funny thing. I like blueberries. They smell good, they taste good, they’re blue… I like the color blue, but! I hate the texture of blueberries. I never eat them, okay… almost never. But I decided to try a blueberry muffin today, and it was good. The texture wasn’t quite as bad as when they’re fresh or in some desserts. So that was nice. 😊

I went to the grocery store. Publix, to be specific. Some of y’all know I could live in there. Seriously. I could. I spend hours of time strolling up and down isles while the guy in the meat department is looking at me like, this girl has walked by twenty times already, she crazy. 😂

Here is a picture of my dog as I’m typing this post…. Refusing to look at me because she doesn’t want her picture taken. Seriously. She was looking at me until I tried to take a picture…. Then this is what I get. Manners, she has none. 😂 — She cute, tho! 😘

I did some editing today. For about an hour or two. Nothing crazy. I’ll get plenty of writing time tomorrow though, so it’s all good. 👍

I raked some leaves. That was spur of the moment. Out the kitchen window I saw a squirrel that wanted water, but the bird bath was empty, so I went out to fill it because I felt bad for the local wildlife, and somehow found myself raking up leaves around the shrubs in the backyard. 🤷

Oh yeah, I also did a load of laundry. Took it out of the dryer and folded it and everything. Go me!

So there’s a little peek into my day. You probably don’t care, but on the off chance you do, then this post was just for you! 😘

A Day In The Life…

I didn’t write today. Instead, I did laundry, reorganized the closet, vacuumed, and cleaned the bedroom and the bathrooms. Well, one of the bathrooms. The other one didn’t really need it. And that was it. Just another day in the thrilling life of Heather. 😘

The only thing I didn’t do, that needs to be done, is clean the kitchen. I may do it later tonight. If not, I’ll do it in the morning. Easy peasy.

For the time being though, I’m going to hop in the shower, and then maybe read for a little while. I’ve been rereading my Sandra Brown books and I’m several chapters into French Silk, which I originally read like five years ago. So if the dishes don’t get washed tonight, y’all know why! 😂

I will see you all tomorrow, and with any luck, I’ll have something much more interesting to post.

Another Blog Post You Never Asked For… Pajamas & Peanut Butter…

So to kick off 2020 I thought I’d do a little blog post about myself. If you want to learn a little bit about me, read on….

My first name is Heather, last name Threatte, pronounced Threeeee-T. Trust me. I know you were wondering.

I love cold weather. Documentaries. Board games. Lemon water. Old sitcoms. Sleeping in. Starry night skies. Gardening. Dogs. Flowers. Christmas. Exercise. Sweet, not salty. Pajama shorts. Late nights. And historical romance novels.

I believe in love, kindness, and compassion above all things.

My husband is my favorite person. My mom is my best friend. And if I’m being honest, I like my dog better than most people. What can I say? She’s my little cuddle bug. ❤️

I like more peanut butter than jelly on my pb&j’s.

I’m a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl every day of the week. (Okay, not when I’m at home writing. I have a large variety of nice, colorful pajama shorts for that!)

I can’t talk about myself without mentioning, that while my husband is my favorite person, and my Mom is my best friend, God is my favorite everything, the best of the best, and I don’t even have words for how much that defines me.

I’m shy. A little anti-social. Introverted. But I try. I try to put myself out there as often as I can. And no matter what, I’ll never stop trying.

And lastly, I just want to say, I like to eat spoon fulls of peanut butter right by themselves. — Yes, I’ve mentioned peanut butter twice already. Clearly, I like peanut butter! (And pajama shorts! They got two honorable mentions as well!)

So that’s a little bit about me. If you want to drop a few lines about yourself in the comment section down below, go for it! I’d love to learn more about you. Do you like eating peanut butter in your pajamas? Maybe! Who knows!

Until Next Time,
Heather. 😊

I Have A Plan….

I did a horrible, awful, absolutely ridiculous thing…

I committed to a blog post a day in 2020. (Yes, I know… I know. You don’t have to say it.)

And then, to make matters worse, I announced it here on my blog like a lunatic. That’s right. I told everyone I’d do it. Now I’m obligated, you see?

Never fear, I have a plan though! (I thought it over while I was trying on jeans at Tjmaxx earlier. I’m nothing if not a multitasker…)

So here goes…

Some days, I will have all the time in the world, and I’ll write one up and post it on those days.

Other days, I’ll have less time, or I’ll be busy, so I’ll have some pre-written things waiting in the wings and they’ll be posted then.

At this time, I have no pre-written things, except novels… which I’m not posting those here in their entirety, obviously, so I’ll have to get a few posts written. But that should be fun. I’ll do it when I’m in a writing mood, and they’ll be waiting on me when I need them.

Problem solved! You’ll get a post a day, only they won’t always be written on that day. You just won’t know it. Which honestly, is a genius idea and makes this goal a lot more achievable. People probably do this all the time. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before now.

And I’m realizing, at this moment, as I’m writing this post…. That I wrote and published the post where I announced this whole scheme, this morning, around 1 am. So now, while I’m writing this at four in the afternoon on December 31st, I’m going to have to wait and post it tomorrow, on January 1st… seeing as I already have a post for the 31st, and I don’t want to waste this one on the same day.

Figures. But that’s okay. I’ll finally get to use that nifty publish later option I’ve never bothered with before.

Anyway, this is my plan. I’m going to do my best to stick to it. Let’s hope I come out on top. We’ll see. Fingers crossed.

Heather.

Why Do I Do These Things To Myself?

I’ve been thinking… Yeah, yeah, I know… I probably shouldn’t do that… but I already did it, so here we are.

I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I think if you’re going to start something, you should start immediately. Don’t wait. Start today. Thing is… if I start something today… It’s the 31st of December… so technically I’m starting something that rings in the new year.

Does that make it a new year’s resolution? Maybe. But given that I’m starting on December 31st… I’m giving myself a pass. This isn’t a resolution; it’s a commitment that begins today. (Please don’t point out the definition of either of those words, nor synonyms. No need to state the obvious. Please let me pretend. 😉 )

Anyway, that leads me to this….

I plan, fingers crossed, to write one blog post a day in 2020.

Now I know you’re probably thinking, yeah right. (Deep down inside, I’m thinking the same thing. Don’t feel bad.)

But! Let me just say this. Two years ago I went on a weight loss journey and committed to working out an hour a day, seven days a week, no exceptions. For five months, the entire time it took to lose 40 pounds, I did just that. Every. Single. Day. No matter what. I worked out. Every once in a while, because life gets in the way, I’d have to cut the time down to 30 minutes, but I never missed a day.

If I could do that then, I can do this now. No excuses.

Now I would like to add here, I still work out regularly, I didn’t just quit. The goals changed once I reached the initial goal I’d set out to achieve. It’s a different amount of time and a different amount of days, and I don’t stick to it quite as rigidly. I sometimes switch or flips days, stuff like that, but I’m still committed to regular exercise, and I still  make it happen.

If I can work out self-discipline for that, I can make it work for this.

So I’m going to try! Give it my best shot, at least. Let’s hope my best is decent, eh?

Heather.

Singing With Ol’ Timmy!

Nostalgic moment forthcoming! — I’m going to take you back in time.

Picture it.

1997. Seven year old Heather. Stringy brown hair, bangs, bright blue eyes, old t-shirt and a pair of, what were likely ugly shorts given the decade, running around outside, out in the country. No shoes. Barefoot.

Hot country hit on the radio. Tim McGraw & Faith Hill. It’s Your Love.

Because it was so catchy, and such a hit, seven year old Heather knew every single word. So she’d run around outside, belting it as loudly as she was capable of, but with so much heart, y’all.

Ahhhhh. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Today, 28 year old Heather is sitting in the middle of her living room floor, with a make-shift desk spread out before her, working… and simultaneously singing her heart out to “It’s Your Love,” with just as much passion as when she was just a seven year old little girl running around outside.

Still knows every word. Still feels those lyrics deep down in her soul.

Memories are a beautiful thing! We don’t even realize we’re making them, or how much they’ll stick with us, or mean to us, years and years down the road. But, boy are they something special.

Also, if you didn’t belt your heart out to “It’s Your Love”… you missed out! 😀

If you’re curious…. young Heather also knew all the words to “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under” by Shania Twain. – Hahaha! I can still sing it without missing a beat. Along with “Strawberry Wine” and “Livin’ on Love.” — Y’all. I will forever be grateful that my dad always had country radio playing and that a thousand & one memories are now attached those songs. I get to relive them anytime I hear one. (Grateful to Mom, too. That Strawberry Wine was all her doing. 😉 )

Love Y’all!
Heather! 😀

Fancy Gadgets & Cheeseburgers? Check!

Current status: Layin’ in bed watchin’ Spy Kids like I’m not a 28 year old adult. 👍😉

This is my life. These are the things I do. 😂

Also, I want some of these gadgets!! I mean, I wanted them as a kid, but I still want them! — Why have these things not been invented yet? Someone please get on that asap! 😃

Let’s be real… I need one of those fancy gadgets that miraculously produce cheeseburgers & fries out of thin air. 😍. I’ll take all the other stuff too, but my heart is set on the magic food machine!

Also, to be clear, I’d make a terrible spy. I want all these spy tools for my own personal use. Just, ya know, for reference. 😂

If you’re still reading at this point… You’re the real MVP & I appreciate ya! 😁

Just thought I’d share a little piece of my life with you guys… Even if it is an incredibly uninteresting tidbit! 🤣

Much love, Heather!

A Lost Coke… & Memories Abound…

Curious about what I’m up to right now?

Probably not.

That’s okay.

I’m still going to tell you all about it! 😀

Singing. Writing. Drinking. — Water. It’s water, y’all.

I had a Coke, which is rare for me as it is, because I don’t drink them very often. When I do they usually come from a restaurant & are filled slap full of ice. It’s probably more ice than Coke, really, but that’s the only way I like it.

Anyway. I picked up dinner on the way home, and my lovely husband, thinking it was his drink he was finished with… dumped it down the drain. *sighs* That’s what I get for drinking something so bad for me, eh? Can’t even enjoy it!

Oh well.

As far as the singing. Love songs. Cheatin’ songs. Throwbacks I’ve been belting out for years. — I do that while I write. Music really helps with inspiration anyway. — But it also brings back memories that make me smile. For instance…

I’m listening to Sunny Sweeney’s, From a Table Away. Way, way back… years ago… after I’d just met my husband, long before he was my husband, I posted these song lyrics on Facebook…

“And I heard you tell her you still love her, so it doesn’t matter what you say, I saw it all, from a table away.”

Now for context, my husband didn’t like country music back then. He wouldn’t listen to it. He was all rock all the way. Now, though… he’s got programmed country stations all up in the car. So this was well before that.

And this was back when everything was so new, fresh, exciting, and fun. Ya know, when you’re falling in love & everything is cute.

He commented on those lyrics, saying something or other about how that was exactly why country music was trouble. 😀

I just remember grinning, thinking he was too adorable. — That’s been, goodness, nearly 9 years ago now. Holy cow. That was back in 2010. Late summer, 2010. Wow. Can’t even believe I’ve know him that long. — Time flies, y’all. — Also, just to clarify, I still think he’s adorable… just, ya know, not every single thing he says is adorable anymore. — hahahahahahaa! 😀

See!! Music… memories. They go hand in hand sometimes. Helps fuel emotion & creativity. Things that are imperative for any writer. Any person, really. 😀

As for the writing. I’m supposed to be working on novel #2… but here I am. Not doing that. Procrastinating like a boss! Is there an award for that? Can I get one? 😉

Okay, before y’all start handing out awards I’ve definitely earned & would, likely, hang on my wall with pride, I’m going to get out of here & get to work.

Much Love,
Heather!
