Singing With Ol’ Timmy!

Nostalgic moment forthcoming! — I’m going to take you back in time.

Picture it.

1997. Seven year old Heather. Stringy brown hair, bangs, bright blue eyes, old t-shirt and a pair of, what were likely ugly shorts given the decade, running around outside, out in the country. No shoes. Barefoot.

Hot country hit on the radio. Tim McGraw & Faith Hill. It’s Your Love.

Because it was so catchy, and such a hit, seven year old Heather knew every single word. So she’d run around outside, belting it as loudly as she was capable of, but with so much heart, y’all.

Ahhhhh. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Today, 28 year old Heather is sitting in the middle of her living room floor, with a make-shift desk spread out before her, working… and simultaneously singing her heart out to “It’s Your Love,” with just as much passion as when she was just a seven year old little girl running around outside.

Still knows every word. Still feels those lyrics deep down in her soul.

Memories are a beautiful thing! We don’t even realize we’re making them, or how much they’ll stick with us, or mean to us, years and years down the road. But, boy are they something special.

Also, if you didn’t belt your heart out to “It’s Your Love”… you missed out! 😀

If you’re curious…. young Heather also knew all the words to “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under” by Shania Twain. – Hahaha! I can still sing it without missing a beat. Along with “Strawberry Wine” and “Livin’ on Love.” — Y’all. I will forever be grateful that my dad always had country radio playing and that a thousand & one memories are now attached those songs. I get to relive them anytime I hear one. (Grateful to Mom, too. That Strawberry Wine was all her doing. 😉 )

Love Y’all!
Heather! 😀
